HandyWorks

Volunteer

Whether a group of co-workers, a church youth group, a school class, or an individual, HandyWorks has rewarding volunteer opportunities helping Minneapolis seniors with housekeeping, minor home repairs, and outdoor chores.

Volunteers are especially important because they help seniors who have difficulty affording even a nominal chore fee. Last year, our volunteers provided more than 7,300 free hours of service, 70 percent of all chore service hours.

Each fall and spring, during Rake, Rattle & Roll,  volunteer teams rake the yards of low-income seniors. In the summer, teams help with gardening and interior house painting. Individual volunteers are needed all year long to help with a variety of minor home repairs.

To volunteer, contact Megan Nolan-Elliasen, HandyWorks director at 612-721-8687 x329 or Molly Chandler, HandyWorks coordinator at 612-721-8687 x335.
